Situated in the heart of Somerset, this 9 hectare quarry has been used for the extraction of Blue Lias stone for the past 15 years.
It is now to be developed into a mixed use site. The proposed regeneration is a mix of commercial and private and social housing, incorporating a village green, recreational facilities, allotments and woodland area.
The key objectives are to ensure all developments improve the character and quality of the area; respect and be sympathetic to the existing local character, whilst protecting the natural environment. The development aims to create attractive, harmonious and well used places that are suitable for the community.
The new buildings are to be constructed using sustainable materials, and include the integration of low energy systems.
