Harry’s Cider Farm Visitor Centre | Commercial Architecture Somerset

Long Sutton

Harry’s Cider Farm had earned a reputation for producing quality Somerset cider. As the business grew, the owners wanted to welcome more visitors and create a permanent base for tours, cider sales, tastings and events.

The opportunity came through a grant scheme with a short application window. The project needed to move quickly, meet the funding requirements and remain affordable, while delivering a building that reflected the quality of the business. The aim was simple. Create a practical building that supported the farm’s future without losing its connection to the surrounding orchard.

The Challenge

The project had to balance time, budget and design quality. The grant funding created an exciting opportunity, but the programme left little room for delay. Every stage of the design process needed to progress quickly so the application could be submitted within the required timescale.
