Rural Enterprise Centre: Agri-Tech & Food Hub

Shepton Mallet, Somerset

The Trustees of the Royal Bath & West of England Society initiated a new Rural Enterprise Centre project. An existing building on the Showground site was extensively refurbished to create the Agri-Tech & Food Innovation Hub. The Society transformed its former offices into the forward-looking Agri-Tech & Food Innovation Centre. Somerset Architectural Practice, O2i Design Ltd, designed the scheme and obtained planning and building control approvals for the building.

The new Rural Enterprise Centre officially opened its doors in 2018. It offers conference facilities, seminar areas for up to 80 people, a modern commercial test kitchen, and various meeting rooms and office spaces.

The Centre actively supports the development of agricultural enterprises. It plays a crucial role in assisting the growing community of agricultural, technology, and food and drink businesses across the Southwest.
