Technology Centre
Sunbury on Thames, SurreyThis Technology Centre was the winning entry for a competition for BP, carried out by dlp. The company has evolved considerably since it was founded in 1908, and today it is looking towards a new mix of energy sources as the world shifts towards lower carbon. The building is located on the Sunbury-on-Thames site. It is ‘home’ to staff worldwide, working in international teams and driving technological advances.
The project involved full design services through to completion. The design team closely involved end-users in providing solutions to highly specific research needs. The requirement for locating small-scale development rigs with highly sensitive analytical equipment in a building that could later be converted to office space was complex. The solution was logical and flexible, with an openness that would encourage interaction and innovation.
There are no service risers within the floor plates, so there is uninterrupted flexibility for a research facility’s continually changing requirements. Project with dlp.. With dlp.
