The Engine Room reopened in May

We are excited to announce that The Engine Room reopened in May 2024 with a newly refurbished space, made possible by incredible teamwork.

The Engine Room, Somerset Film’s base, is a unique community media centre in Bridgwater. This project, the first of eleven from the Bridgwater Town Deal, aims to revitalise the town centre, with The Engine Room leading the way.

Deborah Richardson, Creative Director of Somerset Film, emphasised the impact of The Engine Room’s expansion:

“The Engine Room’s expanded space isn’t just an architectural transformation; it’s part of our commitment to nurturing artistic collaboration and community engagement regardless of age and experience.
