LangportO2i Design proudly announces the construction of four new self-build Sustainable Rural Live/Work Eco Homes on the Somerset Levels. These eco-friendly dwellings represent a bold leap toward sustainable living. O2i Design’s team designed and oversaw the construction, completing the first two homes in 2022 and the remaining two in 2024.
Situated within the grounds of former farm buildings, these homes feature timber frames and shells that seamlessly blend with the surrounding agricultural landscape. The team prefabricates the timber components off-site and assembles them on location, showcasing exposed internal glulam beams.
These homes boast various sustainable features, including advanced energy-efficient construction techniques. Heavy insulation, high-spec hybrid double glazing, and air-source heat pumps power underfloor heating, enabling occupants to optimize energy usage.
